6. Cookies and preferences
What cookies are
Cookies are small data files, usually with a unique identifier, that a website saves on your device. They can be temporary (deleted when you close the browser) or persistent (kept until an expiry date), and they can be first-party (set by the website you visit) or third-party (set by services from other companies). The browser's local storage (localStorage) works in a similar way and is also covered here.
Cookies do not harm your device. They help the website work, remember your preferences and produce aggregated statistics on how people use our pages, so we can improve their structure and content.
How the cookie notice works
On your first visit, a notice asks which categories you accept: Accept all, Necessary only or Customize. No statistics or marketing service is loaded before you accept. If the list of services on the website changes, the notice appears again so you can decide once more.
Necessary
Always onThey make the website work and cannot be turned off.
- Cookie choice (
cubotimize_consentimento, in the browser's local storage): stores the categories you accepted, with the date of your choice. It stays in your browser until you delete it or change your choice. - Language (
cubotimize_idioma, first-party cookie): stores the language chosen with the flag at the top of the website (Portuguese, English or Spanish), so the next pages open in it. It is only saved when you choose a language and lasts one year. - PHP session cookie (
PHPSESSID): used by the website forms. It is temporary and expires at the end of the browsing session. - Cloudflare Turnstile, by Cloudflare: checks, on the contact and testimonial forms, whether the sender is a person and not a bot. It does not use tracking cookies and is not used for advertising.
- Cloudflare delivery and protection network: the website is delivered through the Cloudflare network, which protects it against attacks and measures page performance (load time) in aggregate form, without cookies and without identifying visitors.
Statistics
Only with consentThey show which pages are visited, where visits come from, which links are clicked (for example, the links to CuboPlus products) and how people use the pages.
- Google Analytics 4, by Google: audience measurement. It uses first-party cookies, such as
_gaand_ga_*. - Google Tag Manager, by Google: manages the website's measurement tags.
- Microsoft Clarity, by Microsoft: shows how the pages are used, with heatmaps and session recordings (clicks, scrolling and cursor movement). What you type in the forms is masked and not recorded. It uses first-party cookies, such as
_clckand_clsk.
Marketing
Only with consentThey measure the results of our campaigns.
- LinkedIn Insight Tag, by LinkedIn: measures campaigns and visits coming from LinkedIn.
WhatsApp, video and external links
The WhatsApp button takes you to WhatsApp, a Meta service, only when you click it. Nothing from WhatsApp is loaded before that, and the conversation then follows WhatsApp's own privacy rules.
The institutional video in the About us section is hosted on YouTube, a Google service. It only loads when you click to watch, through the youtube-nocookie.com address, which does not set YouTube cookies before the video plays. From then on, playback follows YouTube's own privacy rules.
Links to our social media and to other websites go through the cubo.plus link shortener, owned by Cubotimize, which counts the clicks.
How to change your choice
You can review the accepted categories at any time with this button or with the “Cookie preferences” link in the footer of every page. When you withdraw a permission, the page reloads to turn off the services in that category. You can also delete cookies and local storage in your browser settings.
